The Durga Puja started three hundred and fifty years ago. In the early morning of Mahalaya, after bathing in the water of Mahananda, ringing the Dhak-Kasar bell, the head of the buffalo was dyed dark vermilion and taken to the landlord's house. The entrance of the house was resounding with the sound of conch shells. Thousands of people used to witness the animal sacrifice on the roof of Thakur Dalan.
Presently the splendor of Puja has decreased a bit. It is known that Devi does not take Anna Bhog. On the evening of Shashti, the goddess is invoked at Beltala. After this, the goddess was received and installed in the Thakurdalan. The villagers used to visit the zamindar's house on Navami and take bhog prasad. Although now there is no zamindari. Invited guests are nominal. Sacrifice of animal is stopped.
On the day of Dashomi, immersing the goddess in the waters of Mahananda continues even today as per the tradition of the family.
