All candidates who have passed H.S. or Equivalent Examinations (General Stream**), in the years 2021 and onwards are eligible to apply, subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria as laid down by C.U. & the College.

** Students passing H.S. or Equivalent Qualifying Examinations from Open School /
Vocational / Distance Mode are NOT ELIGIBLE for Admission in this college.

3. Marks obtained in H.S. or Equivalent Qualifying Examinations in TOP FOUR subjects in order of marks shall be considered to ascertain the “Aggregate Marks ** ”

** For Calculation of Aggregate Marks:
 i) Marks in Compulsory Environmental Education / Environmental Studies shall
not be taken into account.
 ii) However, Environmental Science if studied as an elective subject of 100 marks,
shall be taken into account.

4. Applicants for B.A. (Hons) / B.Sc. (Hons & Gen) / B.Com (Hons & Gen) courses must have passed (i) English (100 marks) & (ii) 3 elective subjects in H.S. or Equivalent Qualifying Examinations.

5. Applicants for B.A. (Gen) Courses must have passed (i) English (100 marks) (ii) Bengali (100 marks) & (iii) 3 elective subjects in H.S. or Equivalent Qualifying Examinations.
In other words, for Admission to B.A. (Gen) Courses Bengali (100 marks) in H.S. or equivalent examination is compulsory.

6. Before filling in Online Application Form, Students are advised to check the Combinations of subjects as provided by the College.

7. Candidates applying for B.A. /B.Sc. (Hons) Courses in a subject shall have to choose two Generic Electives (GE) out of available combinations. Between these two Generic Electives they have to select one Generic Elective for each Semester (up to 4th Semester)
with the condition that they have to study each Generic Elective for two Semesters.

8. Candidates applying for B.A. (Gen.) courses shall have to choose one subject combination among the available ‘3-subject combinations’ offered by the College, keeping in mind that the last subject of a ‘3-subject combination’ will be treated as Generic Elective for Semester-I & Semester-II and first two subjects will be treated as Core Courses. For example, if a candidate choose “Philosophy (G)-Bengali (G)-Sanskrit (G)” as his/her subject
combination then Sanskrit (G) will be treated his/her Generic Elective for Semester-I & Semester-II and Philosophy (G)-Bengali (G) will be treated his/her Core Courses.

9. Candidates applying for B.Sc. (Gen.) courses shall have to choose one subject combination among the available ‘3-subject combinations’ offered by the College and all the three subjects will be treated as Core Courses.

10. A Candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Economics if he/she has passed in Mathematics at the H.S. Examination (10+2) conducted by the West Bengal Council of H.S. Education or its equivalent examination in Mathematics/ Business Mathematics.
Students who have passed Business Economics including Business Mathematics in H.S. (10+2) level from West Bengal Council of H.S. Education are also eligible for admission in the Honours Course in Economics.
