In 2021 assembly elections in West Bengal, Bankim Chandra Hazra of Trinamool Congress won the Sagar assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Bikash Kamila of BJP. Bankim Chandra Hazra got 129,000 votes while Bikash Kamila got 99,154 votes.
In 2016 assembly elections in West Bengal, Bankim Chandra Hazra of Trinamool Congress won the Sagar assembly seat.
