By election date of assembly and lok sabha in three constituencies in West Bengal has been declared. By elections in two lok sabha constituencies, Tamluk and Cooch Behar and assembly seat Manteswar will be held on 19 November 2016, Saturday and results of all the by elections will be announced on 22 November.
State transport minister Subhendu Adhikari contested from Nandigram assembly seat in 2016 West Bengal assembly election and he was the sitting MP of Tamluk. Subhendu Adhikari resigned from Tamluk lok sabha constituency after winning the bidhan sabha election. Cooch Behar lok sabha constituency is vacant due to the death of sitting MP of there, Renuka Sinha of Trinamool Congress. Manteswar assembly seat is also vacant due to the death of sitting MLA, Sajal Panja of Trinamool Congress.
