Deulghata Picnic Spot 



Deulghata

Deulghata is a beautiful weekend destination which is located 18 km from Purulia town. in West Bengal. Deulghata is situated on the banks of river Kansabati. Deulghata is surrounded by many ancient Jain temples, most of which are now in a ruined state.

How to Reach Deulghata

Train services are available from Howrah to Purulia. Buses to Purulia are also available from Esplanade Bus Terminus. From Purulia go to Joypur by bus or car and Deulghata is just 1.5 km from Joypur.

Where to stay at Deulghata – Hotels and Lodges

There are no hotels or lodges at Deulghata. Tourists can stay at Purulia.


Joychandi Pahar


Joychandi Pahar

Joychandi Pahar is a hill which is a popular tourist attraction in Purulia district. The spot is just three kilometres from the sub divisional town of Raghunathpur, Purulia district. It is on the Purulia – Barakar road. Joychandi Pahar is popular for rock climbing. Nearest railway station is Adra.

How To Reach Joychandi Pahar

To reach this place one has to take a bus from Purulia to Raghunathpur. There are hardly any lodging facilities

Matha Tourist and Picnic Spot in Purulia 


Matha is a tribal village in Purulia district of West Bengal. People who love village life and culture can visit this village to get oxygen in their lives. The pollution free air, lush greenery and small hills around the village are the main attractions of Matha village. There is a small temple located atop the hill. River Kudlung flows by the side of the village. Main attraction of Matha village is Pakhipahar which is 3 km away from the village.

How to Reach Matha

Reach Purulia by bus or train and from there cars are available to reach Matha. Matha is 40 kms from Purulia station.

Saheb Bandh
Saheb Bandh

Beautiful lake, morning and evening walk around the Lake gives a peaceful experience. The Lake is full of Lotus. Migratory Birds come in huge numbers during the winter season. Science museum and Subhash park are located on the either side of the bandh. Shikaras are available here.

Saheb Bandh is a 50 acre lake in Purulia, that is known to have been constructed in the mid of 19th century. It is said this water body was dug by convicts, at the instigation of Colonel Tikley, during the British Raj. This process was started in the year 1843 and took five years for it to be completed.

How To Reach Saheb Bandh

One can reach Saheb Bandh via Durgapur - Purulia - Raghunathpur Road. It is located near head post office, Nistarini College.

Garhpachkot


Situated at the foothill of Panchakot (panchet hill), in the north east corner of the Purulia District,close to the boundary with district Burdwan and JharKhand.

Hilltop offers picturesque and panoramic view of the command area of the Panchet dam on Damodar River and its reservior. Bird watching on Panchet dam is a treat to the eye.

How to Reach Garhpachkot

 Tourists travelling by train, get down at the stations of Barakor or Asansol and take a trekker to cover an hour long path to reach Gar Panchakat. Can also take the car route by driving along the National Highway 2. After crossing Asansol, turn left and takes the road leading to Raghunathpur. After reaching the Satbari stop, destination is few km away by the village path.
