Singer turned politician Babul Supriyo sworn in as Minister of State. In Narendra Modi’s first cabinet expansion. Babul Supriyo from West Bengal gets a berth in central cabinet. The 43 years old playback singer from Bollywood film industry contested in the last Lok Sabha Election from Asansol constituency and won the seat.

Babul Supriyo was never in politics before the lok sabha election 2014. BJP approached the singer to contest from industrial town of the South Bengal.
