Cyclone Hudhud is categorised as severe by weather forecasters and it is expected that it will hit Odisha and Andhra Pradesh on Sunday afternoon.The Meteorological Department has predicted the storm speed will reach up to 140km/h (87mph).
All precautions are being taken for mass evacuations and stocking shelters with rations. Disaster relief teams are ready in the two states.
Eight districts of Odisha are likely to be affected by the Cyclone Hudhud. The districts are Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.
