Good news for West Bengal students who appeared in Medical Joint Entrance Examination 2014. The Medical Council of India (MCI) has decided to restore 40% of the seats it had slashed due to lack of infrastructure and teachers in state-run government colleges and two private colleges.

At the end of its two-day meeting in Delhi on Saturday, MCI's executive committee has decided to restore 400 seats in West Bengal.
Seats restored are as follows
Burdwan Medical College – 50
Murshidabad Medical College – 100
IQ-City Medical College – 150
ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences, Haldia - 100.
In 2014 West Bengal Medical Entrance Examination, 63,330 students appeared and 4,433 are selected eligible for counselling.
