In 1980 Lok Sabha election in Tamil Nadu state, R. Jeevarathinam of INC defeated Pulavar K. Govindan of dmk and won the Arakkonam Lok sabha constituency seat.
In 1984 Lok Sabha election in Tamil Nadu state, R. Jeevarathinam of INC defeated Pulavar K. Govindan of dmk and won the Arakkonam Lok sabha constituency seat.
In 1989 Lok Sabha election in Tamil Nadu state, Jeevarathinam R. of INC defeated Murthy K. of dmk and won the Arakkonam Lok sabha constituency seat.
