Police firing at Loba village at Dubrajpur – Birbhum district in West Bengal

Another case of clash between Police and villagers registered in West Bengal. Police fired at villagers at Loba village in Durrajpur of Birbhum district and six villagers are injured. No death is reported. Three OC of police are also injured.

In the recent past such police and villagers clash and police firing took place at Singur and Nandigram. At that time Trinamool Congress were in opposition side and Left Front was the ruling party. This time villagers are united under the banner of Trinamool Congress,  TMC is the ruling party in West Bengal now still the incidence of firing occurred. The dispute is due to a coal lifting project in that area.

Trinamool MP Shatabdi Roy and Birbhum district secretary of Trinamool Congress are at daggers drawn since long time and it is assumed that it may be one of the causes of such firing. Some finds the hand of CPI (M) also. Anyway we have to wait and watch how administrator tackles the situation and avoid any unwanted circumstances.
