Kolkata International Book Fair is one of the prestigious events in Kolkata and entire West Bengal. Kolkata International Book Fair has successfully completed its glorious 36 years and 37th Kolkata International Book Fair will be held at Milan Mela Prangan in Kolkata from 30 January 2013 to 10 February 2013. Inauguration of 37th Kolkata International Book Fair will be on 26 January 2013. Theme country of 37th Kolkata International Book Fair is Bangladesh.
The 37th Kolkata Book Fair will be dedicated to the memory of famous Bengali poet and novelist Sunil Gangopadhyay. Sunil Ganguly died on 23 October 2012. News is that office of the Book Fair or any one of the halls in the Milan Mela ground will be named after Sunil Gangopadhyay.
A Memorial Lecture and an award for poets and writers will be arranged in the name of Sunil Gangopadhyay. Vikram Seth may deliver a “Sunil Gangopadhya Memorial Lecture” during the inaugural ceremony of 37th Kolkata Book Fair.
Kolkata Literary Meet will be held from 31 January to 4 February 2013. First Kolkata Literary meet was held on 2010 and the meet was inaugurated by Sunil Gangopadhyay.
