In 1967 lok sabha election of Andhra Pradesh state, J. R. Rao of INC defeated M. Kistayya - an independent candidate and won the Mahbubnagar lok sabha seat.
In 1971 lok sabha election of Andhra Pradesh state, J. Rameshwar Rao of TPS defeated D. K. Satyareddy of INC and won the Mahbubnagar lok sabha seat.
In 2009 lok sabha election of Andhra Pradesh state, K Chandrasekhar Rao of TRS defeated D Vittal Rao of INC and won the Mahbubnagar lok sabha seat.
