2014 Lok Sabha election result was in favour of AITC. Sunil Kumar Mondal of AITC defeated his nearest rival Iswar Chandra Das of CPI (M). Sunil Kumar Mondal got 574660 votes and won the Bardhaman Purba Lok Sabha constituency seat. Iswar Chandra Das got 460181 votes.
2009 Lok Sabha election result was in favour of CPI (M). Anup Kumar Saha of CPI (M) defeated her nearest rival Ashoke Biswas of Trinamool Congress. Anup Kumar Saha got 531,987 votes and won the Bardhaman Purba Lok Sabha constituency seat. Ashoke Biswas got 472,568 votes.
