2014 Lok Sabha election result was in favour of TMC. Dr. Mamtaz Sanghamita of TMC defeated her nearest rival Sk. Saidul Haque of CPI (M). Dr. Mamtaz Sanghamita got 554521 votes and won the Bardhaman-Durgapur Lok Sabha constituency seat. Sk. Saidul Haque got 447,190 votes.
2009 Lok Sabha election result was in favour of CPI (M). Saidul Haque of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Nargis Begam of Congress. Saidul Haque got 573399 votes and won the Bardhaman-Durgapur Lok Sabha constituency seat. Nargis Begam got 465,162 votes.
