Why the name is Lal Dighi
There are different stories behind the name of Lal Dighi. Some says that during dol utsav the water of the lake became red due to colours of dol and from this event the name became Lal Dighi. The other story is that reflection red light of the old fort on the lake was the reason behind such name. There is another story which says that Lalchand Basak had dug the pond became popular as Lal Dighi.
