Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur has been established on 2000, under the management of Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College Society.

Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College was previously affiliated to Burdwan University but from 2001-2002 session onwards the college is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). This engineering college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) and Department of Higher Education.
