In 2021 assembly election, Tapan Dasgupta of Trinamol Congress defeated his nearest rival Debabrata Biswas (Baban) of BJP to win this assembly seat.
Tapan Dasgupta got 93,328 votes and Debabrata Biswas (Baban) got 83,556 votes.
In 2016 assembly election, Tapan Dasgupta of Trinamol Congress defeated his nearest rival Dilip Nath of INC to win this assembly seat.

In 2011 assembly election, Tapan Dasgupta of Trinamol Congress defeated his nearest rival Ashutosh Mukhpadhyay of CPI (M) to win this assembly seat.
Tapan Dasgupta got 90289 votes and Ashutosh Mukhpadhyay got 59421 votes.
