Eligibility Criteria for B.A. Honours in different subjects


Students seeking admission in different honours courses must secure the below mentioned aggregate and individual subject marks.


Bengali: 55% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 60% marks in the subject.


English: 75% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 75% marks in the subject for WBHS board and 85% for I.S.C & C.B.S.C students. Students have to appear in an admission test.


Sanskrit: 55% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 55% marks in the subject.

Urdu: 50% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 50% marks in the subject and 35% in English.


Persian: 50% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 45% marks in the subject. Direct admission for students.


History: 60% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 60% marks in the subject with 65% in English for WBHS board and 70% in English for all other boards.


Physiology: 55% aggregate marks in Arts and 55% marks in the subject with465% in English or Bengali for all boards.


Sociology: 70% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 65% marks in the subject with 55% in English for WBHS board and 65% in English for all other boards.


Political Science: 70% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 70% marks in the subject with 55% in English for WBHS board and 65% in English for all other boards.


Hindi: 50% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 55% marks in the subject with 60% in English.


Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. Honours in different subjects


Botany: 65% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 65% marks in Biology or 80% marks in Biotechnology and 60% marks in Chemistry.


Chemistry: 70% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 75% marks in the subject with 60% in both Mathematics and Physics.


Economics: 65% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 65% marks in Mathematics or 90% in Business Mathematics. Candidates have to appear for written test.


Geography: 65% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 70% marks in the subject with 60% in Mathematics in Secondary level.


Mathematics: 70% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 80% marks in the subject and must have Physics in 10_2 level.


Microbiology: 75% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 75% marks in Biology and Chemistry. Must have Physics and Mathematics in 10+2 level.


Physics: 70% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 75% marks in the subject with 70% in Mathematics and must have Chemistry in 10+2 level.


Statistics: 70% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 75% marks in Statistics or Mathematics.


Zoology: 70% aggregate marks in H.S. or equivalent and 75% marks in Biology or 80% marks in Biotechnology with 60% in Chemistry. Candidates must have Physics in 10+2 level.
