Brief history of Women’s Christian College

Established in 19^th July, 1945 by the Bengal Christian Council, Women’s Christian College was affiliated to the University of Calcutta and accredited to NAAC. This group tried hard for imparting education to the women in Bengal. Women’s Christian College has been started with the fund collected out of charity. The books and furniture are also donated. It aims at providing higher education to all the women of the society irrespective of their caste, creed or class. The college has its hostel for students coming here to study from far places.

Women’s Christian College provides undergraduate degree courses such as (a) Bachelor of Arts in English, Bengali, History, Political Science, Philosophy and Sanskrit (b) Bachelor of Science in Geography and Economics.
