Susunia is located at the north-western part of Bankura district. Susunia is 10 km North-East of Chhatna and Chhatna is 13 km from Bankura town. Holy spring water, natural beauty of Susunia hills attracts tourists. Susunia hill attracts the rock climbers also. . It is considered as the second rock climbing site in West Bengal after Darjeeling. The hill range is almost of 2 miles and height of 1442 feet. Susunia hill has a good collection of medicinal plants. Susunia Hill is a known archeological and fossil site. Fossils of lion, giraffe and many other animals have been discovered here.
Places to visit at Susunia
The hill is covered with sal, teak, mahua, arjun and amlaki trees. The holy spring is located at the foothills of Susunia. People of nearby villagers and tourists take holy dip in the spring. Local people carry water from this spring and walk 19 kilometers to pour this water on a Siva Linga there in a temple called Ekteswar. Near the spring there is a Birstambha, a 5ft high stone idol. Local people worship it.
Susunia is famous for stone handicrafts. Bishalakshi Temple at Chhatna is also a tourist attractions place.

One has to reach Bankura first by train or by bus and from Bankura local buses are available.

Different hostel and rest houses are available for night stay of tourists. Some of those are Youth Hostel, Payanchet Rest House, and Kole House.
