West Bengal state government has notified that mutual transfer of teachers teaching in state government aided schools are possible. This is announced today, on 23 February 2012. The teachers willing for mutual transfer should be of same subject.
This is good news for the teachers in West Bengal government schools. Many teachers specially women teachers face problems as they have to work in one district while they are staying in other district or in some distant location. The state government’s decision of mutual transfer of teachers in government schools would the teachers.
How to apply for mutual transfer and what are the rules
Male teachers will not be allowed for mutual transfer with lady teacher of any girls' school.
Application for mutual transfer is applicable upto 58 years age.
Application of mutual transfer to be tendered to the managing committee of the school.
The mutual transfer of teachers will be within schools of same language of education. Teacher of Bengali medium school can apply for mutual transfer with a teacher of Bengali medium school only. This rule of mutual transfer is applicable for all languages.
Teachers with clean service record only can apply for mutual transfer. Teachers on whom action has been taken or departmental inquiry is going on can not apply for mutual transfer.
Teachers seeking for mutual transfer have to deposit a bank draft of Rs. 1000.00 to School Service Commission (SSC).
'No objection' certificate from school to be submitted with the second part of the application for mutual transfer.
Whenever any teacher applies for mutual transfer, school managing committee will discuss on that matter in their next meeting and certificate will be issued.
Any teacher can avail this mutual transfer facility once in his or her service life. This rule will be applicable for al l government schools excepting schools at Darjeeling hill areas.
