This article is on the new system adopted for Higher Secondary results from 2014.
Grand total of marks will again appear in Higher Secondary results from 2014. The system of mentioning grand total in marksheets was abolished five years ago and the reason was that this would reduce the stress among the students. As per new system, It will mention the scores in each subject and the grand total and based on the grand total the examinee will get an overall grade. The gradation system will be as follows:
‘AA’ will be the highest grade which will awarded to students with aggregate 90 to 100 per cent. The lowest grade will be ‘D’ which will be given if a student secures less than 30 percent aggregate marks. D grade students will have to appear in the Higher Secondary examination again.
In a word the new system will be same as the system used before five years when individual subject marks, total marks and division based on total marks were awarded to students.
A new system is taken for students who pass the Higher Secondary but want to improve their result. If any student want, they can re-appear in maximum two papers of his/her choice. In such case, the marksheet of the first examination is to be surrendered and a new marksheet will be issued with new marks. If the student gets less marks in the re-examination then also a new marksheet will be issued. The re-examination might be conducted within three months after the publication of Higher secondary results.
There is another change in the system. External examinerswill be engaged for evaluation of Class XI annual examination answer scripts and the marks will be mentioned in the Higher Secondary marksheet.
