Few words about Nakhoda Mosque
Nakhoda Mosque was founded in 1926 by a resident of Cutch, Abdar rahim Osman. Muslims come here to worship and the mosque is governed by a board of trustees. It is regarded as the largest mosque is Kolkata. It can accommodate about 10000 persons at a time.
Architecture of Nakhoda Mosque
Nakhoda Mosque has been built inspiring from the Akbar’s tomb in Sikandra. The design of the mosque, Indo-Saracemic design contributes to its architectural significance. A large prayer hall, a dome and two minarets are present in the mosque in addition to it there are twenty five smaller minerats. The architecture of the mosque is similar to the mausoleum of Mughal Emperor Akbar at Sikandra.
