Birla Mandir in Kolkata also celebrates Janmashtami with great devotion.

Mathura in Uttar Pradesh is believed to be birth place of Lord Krishna so Janmashtami celebration in Mathura-Vrindavan or entire Uttar Pradesh is something different from any other place of India. Here Janmashtami is celebrated gorgeously and religiously.
In Maharastra also Janmashtami celebration is very famous. In Maharastra, Lord Krishna is referred as ‘Govinda’ on the day of Janmashtami. Groups of people, mainly young boys would celebrate the day with singing and breaking ‘matkas’.
