West Bengal state government has decided to award the eminent Bengalis with Bongoshree award. This article is on this award, when the award will be given and who will be awarded.
This is a noble decision of West Bengal state government to pay respect to eminent Bengalis with Bongoshree award this year. Manna Dey, Dwijen Mukhopadhyay, Sandhya Mukhopadhyay, Amala Shankar, Supriya Devi, Mahasweta Devi and Haradhan Bandopadhyay will be awarded Bongoshree award this year and one more Bengali from minority group will be awarded the award of state government.
On several occasions, Mamata Banerjee has shown her interest in paying the due respect to eminent personalities from different fields of life.
Her decision is welcomed by Bengalis as the new generation will come to know about the work of these eminent personalities.
The award giving ceremony will be held on 25 July in Science city of Kolkata.
