In 2011 West Bengal assembly election, Sonali Guha of Trinamool Congress won Satgachia assembly seat defeating her nearest rival Barun Kumar Naskar of CPI (M). Sonali Guha got 93,902 votes, Barun Kumar Naskar got 75,792 votes and Subrata Samanta of BJP got 7,517 votes.
