In 2021 assembly elections in West Bengal, Swapan Majumder of BJP won this assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Alo Rani Sarkar of Trinamool Congress. Swapan Majumder got 97,828 votes and Alo Rani Sarkar got 95,824 votes.
In 2016 assembly elections in West Bengal, Surajit Kumar Biswas of Trinamool Congress won this assembly seat.
