In 2021 assembly elections in West Bengal, Ashok Kirtania of BJP defeated his nearest rival Shyamal Roy of Trinamool Congress and won this assembly seat. Ashok Kirtania got 97,761 votes and Shyamal Roy got votes.
In 2016 assembly elections in West Bengal, Biswajit Das of Trinamool Congress won this assembly seat.
