Admissions to the 1st Year of the three-year B.A./B.Sc. (Honours and Major) Courses for 2016 will be conducted online only.
Online application forms will be available on the site from 07.07.2016 to 18.07.2016 (both days inclusive). Online submission will remain open for 24 hours during this period. Admission forms can be accessed with the help of any browser.
A student may apply for more than one Honours or Major subjects by filling up separate forms. Separate payments are to be made for separate applications.
Merit List will be published on this site on 23rd July, 2016.

Eligibility Criteria
- A candidate who has passed the
Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent Examination is eligible to seek
admission to the 1st year of the 3 year B.A/B.Sc.(Hons./Major) Course of
Studies provided she has also passed in English having full marks not
being less than 100.
- For the purpose of determining
eligibility for admission to the Honours Course, aggregate marks shall be
calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks
secured by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory Environmental
Education/Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of
aggregate marks. If the subject "Environmental Science" is
studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it may be taken into account
for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.
- Candidates belonging to the
Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Community and Sports person taking up
Honours Course of Study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the
aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous
qualifying examination, as the case may be.
- A candidate shall be allowed to
take up the subjects(s) under heading "A" if she had passed the
subjects(s) under heading "B" at the previous qualifying

- Some Special conditions for
admission to Honours Courses as Follows:
- Economics: A candidates shall
be allowed to take up Honours in Economics if she has passed in
Mathematics at the H.S. Examination (10+2) conducted by the West Bengal
Council of H.S. Education or its equivalent Examination in Mathematics.
- Mathematics: A candidate shall
be allowed to take up Honours in Mathematics if she has passed in
Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination. A candidate who has
passed in Business Mathematics is not eligible for admission to the
Mathematics Honours Course.
- Chemistry: A candidate shall
be allowed to take up Honours in Chemistry if she has passed in Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.
- Candidate opting for any
elective subject must pass in the subject provided she had that subject at
+2 level.
