In the 2021 assembly elections in West Bengal, Malati Rava Roy of BJP defeated his nearest rival Pranab Kumar Dey of Trinamool Congress and won the Tufanganj assembly seat. Malati Rava Roy got 114,503 votes and Pranab Kumar Dey got 83,305 votes.
In the 2016 assembly elections in West Bengal, Fazal Karim Miah of Trinamool Congress defeated his nearest rival Shyamal Chowdhury of INC and won the Tufanganj assembly seat.
