In the 2021 assembly elections in West Bengal, Sukumar Roy of BJP defeated his nearest rival Binoy Krishna Barmanof Trinamool Congress and won the Cooch Behar Uttar assembly seat. Sukumar Roy got 120,483 votes and Binoy Krishna Barman got 105,868 votes.
