This is a new constituency after delimitation. Previous assembly seats were Bishnupur East and Bishnupur West.
In 2021 West Bengal assembly election, Dilip Mondal of Trinamool Congress won Bishnupur assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Agniswar Naskar of BJP. Dilip Mondal got 1,36,509 votes and Agniswar Naskar got 77,677 votes.
In 2016 West Bengal assembly election, Dilip Mondal of Trinamool Congress won Bishnupur assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Alok Sardar of CPI (M). Dilip Mondal got 1,07,129 votes and Alok Sardar got 76,499 votes.
In 2011 West Bengal assembly election, Dilip Mondal of Trinamool Congress won Bishnupur assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Sudhin Sinha of CPI (M). Dilip Mondal got 95,912 votes, Sudhin Sinha got 70,862 votes and Sekhar Naskar of BJP got 5,745 votes.
